Introducing the first annual WPCC Awards.

It’s about time to celebrate the great work of WPCC member organizations and individuals! This first year of awards was designed to recognize the greatest impacts, the best work, the highest level of commitment and most innovative contributions of member organizations, leaders and volunteers.

Please complete the form below to nominate an individual, an organization (or yourself) for our first annual World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition Awards, to be presented on the final day of our Global Annual Meeting — October 6, 2022.

IMPORTANT: If you wish to nominate (or self-nominate) for more than one category, you must fill out a separate application for each.

Outstanding Organization of the Year

Awarded to the WPCC organization that has shown outstanding initiative in pancreatic cancer awareness, fundraising, research, advocacy, outreach, etc.

Nominated organizations will be judged on the level of impact they have made across a minimum of 3 key areas — (1) Awareness, (2) Fundraising, (3) Research, (4) Patient Advocacy, (5) Support of WPCC Activities, and (6) Success of their 2021 WPCD Campaign. Nominations should include detailed information and links that showcase impact in at least 3 of these areas from programs executed by the organization between 1 June 2021 and 1 June 2022.

Outstanding New Organization of the Year

Awarded to the new WPCC organization (joined WPCC after January 1, 2020) that has shown outstanding initiative in pancreatic cancer awareness, fundraising, research, advocacy, outreach, etc.

Nominated organizations will be judged on the level of impact they have made across a minimum of 3 key areas — (1) Awareness, (2) Fundraising, (3) Research, (4) Patient Advocacy, (5) Support of WPCC Activities, and (6) Success of their 2021 WPCD Campaign. Nominations should include detailed information and links that showcase impact in at least 3 of these areas from programs executed by the organization between 1 June 2021 and 1 June 2022.

Excellence in Innovation

Awarded to the WPCC organization of any size or age that has taken the most innovative approach supporting the WPCC mission — creating awareness, educating the public, supporting patients, conducting research, fund raising or friend raising.

Nominated organizations will be judged on the level of innovation they have achieved in support of the WPCC Mission. Innovation will be defined as programs or campaigns that are novel, bold, high-impact, transformational, transferable to other members, multiplier effect (cost vs. impact). Nominations should include detailed information and links that showcase INNOVATION from programs executed by the organization between 1 June 2021 and 1 June 2022.

Outstanding Volunteer of the Year

Awarded to an individual unpaid volunteer member who has shown active commitment within their organizations over the past year (1 June 2021 through 1 June 2022) as evidenced by involvement and impact.

Nominated individuals will be judged on their overall volunteer impact which can be defined as a combination of (1) their duration as volunteer (how many years/months), (2) their work (how many hours they’ve committed to supporting your organization), (3) their spirit for fully representing the organization’s brand/mission, (4) their dependability for being there when it counts. This category is limited to 1 nomination per organization.

WPCC Person of the Year

Awarded to an individual WPCC member who has demonstrated a commitment to collaboration, mentorship, service or engagement to help fulfill the WPCC mission over the past year (1 June 2021 through 1 June 2022).

Nominated individuals will be judged on their overall contributions to the WPCC mission and pancreatic cancer cause with specific focus on (1) Breadth of impact across multiple areas of the WPCC mission, (2) Go above and beyond their mandate in support of the WPCC mission, (3) Demonstration of their leadership and power to champion initiatives through to completion to create a real impact for the WPCC.

Details

Any active WPCC organization may enter their own organization or individual member for any of the awards — or they many nominate another organization or member.

  • Award entry window opens on 15 June and closes 15 July, 2022
  • Judging will take place between 16 July 16 and 31 August, 2022 with winners revealed at the 2022 Annual Meeting on 6 October, 2022.
  • A member of the WPCC Steering Committee will lead a 3-person judging team:
  • The judging Steering Committee member will not be eligible for entry into any award categories.
  • The second judge will be either a pancreatic cancer survivor or another Coalition member from the general WPCC member base to serve as a judge – chosen to represent the breadth of the Coalition’s international footprint.
  • The third judge will be a representative from our top 2022 Annual Meeting sponsor.
  • Nominations will only be accepted via this online Awards Entry page.
  • You must submit a separate entry for each nomination you are making.
  • Please review the judging criteria for each award and be sure to include information that demonstrates actions, projects, initiatives or other efforts of your nominee for the appropriate criteria.
  • Please be sure to include URL/links to background websites or other specific supporting materials
  • You will also be asked to attach a photo and bio if this is for individual nominations and a high res logo for organization nominations.
